Would you please tell us . EquipMAG Exhibitors and Visitors profile?

EQUIPMAG proposal is a comprehensive offer to meet all Retail 360° issue: Fittings, Equipment, Marketing / POS Advertising, Logistics / Supply Chain, Services, Technologies, Customer relations / Digital marketing / e-commerce. Our show is the French leading event for retail professionals.

Today, retail is undergoing a radical transformation with traditional distribution channels converging with new technology. It is reinventing itself whether in a traditional format, or an interactive wall of images, an online store, a drive-through, a click & collect service, and even a pop-up store. The consumer is constantly connected to multiple channels and can now buy anywhere, anytime.

EQUIPMAG will reflect these key trends with a 2014 edition resolutely oriented Retail Innovation 360: our concept is for us, that the physical store is joining digital for a global business who is connected to the world and who is listening to its environment.

How big is the show? How many exhibitors and visitors do you expect?

We will welcome 500 exhibitors and 25,000 attendees are expected.

What is new in 2014 EquipMAG

To present a global offer around 360° innovation, EQUIPMAG creates this year new exhibitions areas and enlarges the content proposed to visitors:

– The E-Commerce/Drive/Supply Chain area to discover new products to maximize convergence of electronic commerce and in-store.

– The Retail Consulting Project area to bring retailers and retail design, brand image, e-retail, digital agencies – and more – together.

– The Start-Up Village to highlight young innovative companies.

Can you tell us about the major events organised during EquipMag Paris

Special events will illustrate different aspects of current retail in its technological, sensorial and relational dimensions:

– Retail LaB 2020 in partnership with Echangeur by LaSer: from home to the point of sale, this interactive area will concretely show the path of the customer of tomorrow. An immersion in the commerce of the future, in the skin of the 360° shopper.

– My Retail 3D, a playful area about new consumption experiences. Around the three senses Watch/Feel/Taste, visitors will immerse themselves in the world of connected commerce as seen by Ecole de Design of Nantes, discover the olfactive signatures of various points of sale imagined by Sevessence, and enjoy the pleasure of a free consumption with Lavazza coffee.

– EQUIPMAG 2014 TV Studio will host exhibitors, partners and guest experts, for live debates about current hot topics.

EquipMag China

Comexposium is already present in China. Do you think there is a potential for more trade shows in China.?

Certainly. The retail market, dominated by traditional grocery stores, has long been gradually replaced with chain supermarkets and shopping centers but the emerging new retail platform is now challenging traditional retailers with innovation demands for technologies and equipment. At the threshold of the industry overhauls, the first exhibition in retail solutions and innovative technologies – EQUIPMAG Retail Expo China will convene at Shanghai Exhibition Center from 15th to 17th this October. Organised by Comexposium, a top 10 global trade event organiser, and Diversified, the organiser of the well-known Retail Asia Expo in Hong Kong, EQUIPMAG Retail Expo China is a must-visit expo for retailers and retail suppliers alike.

What is EquipMag China about?

Equipmag Retail Expo China is anticipated to be the major retail event in Mainland China.

A good shopping experience is predetermined not only by equipment and technologies but also by “soft” services including the retail platform and the retail space design. That’s why we made partnerships with China Interior Decoration Association (CIDA) and Asia Society of Visual Merchandising (ASVM). The former has over 5,000 registered members and over 40,000 accredited interior designers and the latter, headquartered in Sydney, is established to enhance retailers’ recognition of visual merchandising and visual merchandising designer.

The show also has a forward-looking pursuit on shaping retail platforms. As a partner of new retail platforms, Shanghai Electronic Commerce Association (SECA) has given strong support to EQUIPMAG Retail Expo China. The Association actively promotes the development of electronic commerce in Shanghai to perfect the development of e-commerce and e-commerce-related environments including customer credit system, modern logistics, e-payment, digital identification and information security, which is also a key sector for us.

China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shenzhen (CCPIT Shenzhen) and the Shanghai Service Industries Development & Research Foundation (SSIDRF) also gave their strong supports to EQUIPMAG Retail Expo China. The former is a public service organisation established by Shenzhen Municipal Government and the latter is co-founded by Shanghai Service Industries Association and other corporation with strong social responsibilities, both of which will give constructive guidance in modern service and trade aspect to the exhibition.

How many exhibitors are participating at this show? in percentage , Chinese and International exhibitors? How many Visitors do you expect on your first EquipMAG China?

Created to meet demands of the ever-changing retail world, the Expo will attract over 120 domestic and global exhibitors( 40%), as well as 8,000 national and international buyers. Industry leading brands like Philips, Cylande, Lux Design, MicroStrategy, Anveo, Favourorg, Webpower and more have all confirmed their participation. Each will be bringing their latest retail technologies (POS machines, NFC and EAS), equipment (lighting, HVAC), marketing services, digital marketing solutions, display and retail design.

EQUIPMAG Retail Expo China has built extensive partnerships with dozens of domestic and global retail, design and trade associations in hopes of breeding synergies in retail. Mall China is among the first to endorse supports to the Expo in the industry. Mall China has become the largest, most representative and authoritative industry facilitator organization in China, covering professional commercial real estate and shopping center. Mall China will furthermore appoint one of its senior committee members to share a forefront speech about the comparison between shopping malls in China and US in the seminar sessions of the exhibition.

Are you looking to launch more exhibitions in China?

We want first to follow up the development in Shanghai. Shanghai is at the heart of fashion and retail, where the fashion market and retail industry entwines to blossom into extensive opportunities. The signature event of Shanghai Fashion Week – Mode Shanghai – has also reached an agreement with EQUIPMAG Retail Expo China. The two sides will work together at a co-located event, to jointly promote the best fashion to retail buyers.

At the critical time of changing and upgrading clothing industry, China International Fashion Fair (CHIC) also cooperates with Equipmag Retail Expo China. CHIC will bring its insights and conclusion of fashion market into the cooperation to extend the coverage of both exhibitions and improve the service matching for both exhibitions’ customers.

EQUIPMAG Retail Expo China will continue to grasp the pulse of the market, exploring retail insights and industry dynamics with its partners to create a one of a kind show for exhibitors, suppliers and buyers.
