Walmart with a new strategy in Brazil

Walmart decided to change its brand in the country to Big Group. The exchange occurs about a year after 80% of its operations were acquired by the trading company. The current managers of the company had a period of up to three years to continue using the American brand, from the date of purchase of the company.

The company informs that it plans to reinforce investment in the atacarejo channel and in shopping clubs.
Accordingly, it claims that it will convert 10 hypermarkets into stores of the Maxare network that now has 43 units. In a statement, the company states that this banner should be strategic to the company.

Walmart forecasts investments of R $ 1.2 billion in Brazil in the next 18 months. The goal is the modernization and expansion of its stores. They will focus more on attracting formats to rely on them.
