Waitrose to open its Leatherhead store in 2016

waitroseWaitrose confirmed that it would open the long-awaited store in Leatherhead in 2016. The supermarket chain has agreed for a long-term lease for the anticipated new store in Church Street.

It is understood that the three smaller units in the Church Street are being converted to one extended store and which will be given over to the market by summer one year from now along with 22 parking slots.  It is expected that the store will open soon then, but the exact date has not been confirmed yet.

According to company statement the store would create more than 60 jobs and the recruitment is expected to begin in the spring.  Waitrose executive of development Nigel Keen said that there was a big anticipation about leatherhead store and they are happy that it has arrived.
