The giant supermarket retailer has stated recently that it will ban plastic glitters in Christmas products. This ban came as a response to the rising need of finding alternative solutions instead of the plastic glitters.

The retailer has announced that within the next two years they will be providing their Christmas items such as Christmas cards, wrap, crackers, tags, flowers and plants will be free of plastic glitter.

Waitrose head of social responsibility Tor Harris said: “Reducing theimpact of plastics onthe environment is something our customers care passionately about,”

“While it’s important  toeliminate the use of glitter, we’ll find other ways to make sure our products sparkle at Christmas and throughout the year.”
