Visibly long queue for opening of new Aldi in Aberdeen


Hundreds of people were in the queue a day before for the opening of an Aldi store in Aberdeen. The Cornhill Shopping unit was one of the six former Co-operative shops acquired by Aldi on last summer.

As the new store prepared and was ready to greet its first customers, the queue can be seen along ForesterhillĀ  Road. Each golden tickets were handed over to the first 100 customers as a part of the opening cerymony lucky draw. In the celebratory lucky draw, one man won a free Tv and one another was awarded with a digital alarm clock. Earlier the retail chain had announced that it will open 70 new outlets in the United Kingdom next year which was followed by the new announcement for the starting of a new outlet. Aldi hopes that it can touch the magical number of 1000 outlets by 2022. It stands in 659 at present.
