UNICA Group is a proud sponsor of the GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT 2014 and will be sharing its experience and expertise at the Small-Scale Farmer Session on Day 1.
Kristian Moeller, CEO of GLOBALG.A.P., highly welcomes their sponsorship. “Changing markets due to shifts in political constellations require new orientation. We are pleased to offer new opportunities with our SUMMIT 2014 in Abu Dhabi and observe a growing interest of leading export organizations to attend and support this global event in the Middle East. We congratulate UNICA Group for showing its commitment to buyers in the region, some of which will attend the SUMMIT.”
SUMMIT 2014 kicks off with a morning session all about small-scale growers, producer groups, and farmers in emerging countries, with two key presentations and a platform consisting of 4 stages representing 4 continents, where an expert group from a specific country will demonstrate its success models and innovative solutions.
The focus of each stage presentation will be to show how each business model was designed to adapt to the specific market conditions and requirements in that country and region. Presenters will demonstrate the varied solutions producer groups have developed to meet consumer and market demand for assured farm practices, and show how their producers have benefited from these efforts. The 45-minute presentations, which include a 15-min Q&A session, will be repeated a total of two 2 times, giving delegates the opportunity to move from one stage to the next and participate in all the sessions.
Enrique de los Ríos Porras, General Manager of UNICA Group S.C.A., will be hosting the country stage for Spain. UNICA emerged as the combined initiative and effort of thousands of growers who have set individual interests aside to work together to improve the service to their customers and end consumers. The Group consists of the cooperatives Cabasc, Casur, Cohorsan, Ferva, El Grupo, Parque Natural, and Cota 120. UNICA Group has a total of 1,400 growers, 6,500 field workers, and 1,800 warehouse employees. The Group manages over 1,500 hectares of crops.
UNICA Group, as an example of business concentration, has reached a high degree of consolidation, achieving an excellent commercialization of products among the most demanding export markets. This success is based on the commitment of the member cooperatives, the commercial team, the loyalty of its customers, and the sustainability of the growers
