Southampton City Council has discussed recently  Aldi’s proposal to open two stores at the site next to the former East Point Centre in Thornhill. The decision came unanimously by the council.

However the council refused the proposal, local residents expressed their support to the proposal.

Explaining the reasons for the refusal, the council said the new location has been refused for its poor layout and unsafe access.
