The strike enters its 6th week at Co-op Saskatoon

Saskatoon.  Co-op staff are entering their 6th week on strike, and no sign of reaching any solution so far.

Hundreds of Co-op staff have been on a strike wearing white vests with “On Strike” written on it, The co-operative has offered before that staff need to vote to end the strike, yet  the UFCW Local 1400 bargaining committee rejected the co-operative’s offer.

” by the decision and called on the union to circulate and allow members to vote on its offer. Voting on our offer last week provided the simplest way for our employees to see an end to this strike, get paid and return to work,” Saskatoon Co-op CEO Grant Wicks said.” Saskatoon Co-op management said.
