The Foraging Fox – reaches the Top 5 in this national food and drink competition

The Foraging Fox from Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire – is one of the Top 5 shortlisted for this national competition, run by online supermarket Hundreds of businesses entered, in the hope of winning the search by – for Britain’s Next Top Supplier. The Foraging Fox first made the Top 50 and now the final five!

The two founders, Frankie Fox and Desiree Parker, entered their beetroot ketchup under their recently launched brand, The Foraging Fox. This new product caught the judges’ eyes due to its unique flavour and because it is 100% natural. The idea for the ketchup was the result of Frankie teaching her children new ways to enjoy home-grown fruit and vegetables.

In The Hot Seat – 24th April 
On 24th April, The Foraging Fox will travel to London to be in the hot seat. Frankie and Desiree will deliver a ‘Dragons’ Den’ style business pitch to a panel of experts including; Michelin starred chef Tom Kerridge, Ocado Chairman Lord Stuart Rose and last year’s winner – founder of Hiver Beers, Hannah Rhodes. The judges will be on the lookout for unusual, exciting and quality products that are unlike anything else on the market, to help them crown the winner.

A Step up the Retail Ladder
The nationwide competition, now in its second year, is part of Ocado’s ongoing support of small suppliers. The competition has already given hundreds of applicants, the chance to present themselves to Ocado and benefit from expert guidance on how to take a first step on the supermarket ladder.

If successful, The Foraging Fox will secure a listing on and win a £20,000 marketing package to promote their product through Ocado’s website, PR and social media channels.

The Foraging Fox will go up against Atom Beers brewed in Hull, Belinda Clark Confectionery based in Southampton, Meg Rivers Bakery from Shipston on Stour and Manfood located in Huntingdon.
The winning product will be announced in May 2015.
