The Merchant Payments Experience to feature prominently at UK’s largest payments event


The latest retail innovations will be previewed at the UK’s largest payments event, PayExpo Europe. Taking place in the FinTech capital of the world, on the 7 and 8 June at London’s ExCeL, the show will feature The Merchant Payments Experience, brought to you by PayPal, will provide merchants with valuable information on developments in payments and transaction technology and their impact on global commerce. 

The Merchant Payments Experience at PayExpo Europe, will showcase the latest advances in point of sale (POS) architecture, allowing retailers to discover how new hardware can be embedded into existing systems. Merchants can also book bespoke consultations with PayPal experts, who can give them personalised sessions on the e-commerce experience, including beacon technology integration and monetisation.


The show’s comprehensive two day conference at PayExpo Europe includes multiple conference streams specifically designed for retailers, with expert speakers from leading merchants discussing key trends. Matt Clifton, Head of Retail Change at Waitrose, leads an analysis on ‘The part payment innovation is playing in driving customer experience’. Explaining why and how retailers should involve consumers in their CSR, Kevin Morris, Senior Partner, Head of Operations at Medivet and Andrew Gallagher, Senior Director-Marketing at Papa John’s will contribute to a panel debate on brand loyalty, ethos and engagement. Exploring corporate altruism further, Andrew will present a case study titled ‘Our journey in providing digital giving for our customers’. Providing practical advice on improving employee engagement and productivity, Jason Downes, Managing Director at Powwownow, will explain motivation in the digital work space.


The show’s Connected Commerce forum looks at the merchant experience in an omni-channel environment, including the latest technology available for frictionless payments, be it in-store, on a campus and the wider goal of creating cashless societies. Analytics, Loyalty and Localisation will provide analysis on customer retention strategies through predictive commerce and personalised marketing. Attendees will also discover how optimised consumer data, including social networks, are essential strategies for competitive advantage.
