Carrefour strengthens its digital ambitions by opening a Digital Hub in Paris. With the collaboration of Google, the retailer wants to develop new solutions based on artificial intelligence.
In its Digital Hub, Carrefour wants to set up a start-up ecosystem to accelerate the pace of digital innovation. After all, it is one of the spearheads of the ambitious plan of the transformation of CEO Alexandre Bompard. The goal is to create new customer experiences, says the press release. The focus is on integrating data into all activities of the group, developing an omnichannel environment to become a leader in the field of e-commerce food and setting up an open and flexible organization.
.Located in the 13th district of Paris, the 2,500 m² innovation laboratory will host mixed teams of Carrefour and Google experts in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as more than 300 employees specialized in digital applications and e-commerce. The opening follows Carrefour’s partnership with Google in June 2018. Both parties agreed to work together to serve customers with Google Assistant Voice Assistant, Google Home smart speakers and Google Shopping search engine.
