The latest K-citymarket opens in Finnish homes

Kesko reinforces its role in the online retailing of home and speciality goods by opening the new online store. From this retail website clothing, home and leisure products can be bought easily and reliably around the clock. The objective is to expand the current selection of almost 20,000 products into the widest online store selection of home and speciality goods in Finland. In the domestic online store, special attention has been given to the security of online payment.

“We increase the home and speciality goods offer of our 79 K-citymarkets and meet our customers’ wishes by opening the diversified online store for them in their homes. Our online service offers a wide product selection in which we make topical additional choices for daily needs available throughout the country. From now on, we are open at all hours. In addition, we give special attention to the security and reliability of online payments by validating credit card transactions via Finnish banks’ online systems”, says K-citymarket’s President Ari Akseli.

The Finnish language online service relies on shopping convenience and clarity, reliability and speed. The visual appearance of the service is in conformity with the K-citymarket concept. The online store selections are increased continuously and new product categories will be added towards the end of autumn 2012 and next year. A mobile version of the online store is also available.

The new online store provides customers with numerous benefits and topical new products which are announced via customer mail or on the website. Customers using the K-Plussa card in shopping earn K-Plussa points. The shopping is delivered to the post shop or K-citymarket designated by the customer for picking up, or goods can be ordered for home delivery. Deliveries to K-citymarkets are free of charge.

“In the home and speciality goods trade, customers’ shopping behaviour is more individualised than before and the number of interactive channels between retail operators and customers is increasing. We want to be strongly involved in the buying transaction throughout the process, so that customers may use online services from planning a purchase to actual use of products,” says Ari Akseli.

The development of online services and e-commerce are strategic areas of focus in all of Kesko’s divisions. The latest launch of the retail website reinforces Kesko’s position in the online retailing of home and speciality goods, where it serves customers with the,,, and online stores.
