“No one wants to be in the hospital at Christmas time, we want to make sure that Christmas is enjoyable for these children and their families”. These were the words of Shaun Sennett who is the manager of the London Road store in Southampton in an interview with the local press.
As every year from two years ago now, Tesco’s staff from 35 Tesco express stores have been fundraising for those children who are spending Chrismas in Southampton hospital.
The group is seeking to raise £15000 by December 20 when they are finally visiting the hospital and hand gifts to children, so far they have raised £9500.
“It was such an emotional but fantastic experience. The nurses were so overwhelmed when we said we wanted to do it again this year.”
