Christmas might be for joy and celebration with friends and families. Happiness is the only thing that gets bigger when you share it. Tesco shoppers in York during the few past days decided to share the joy with those who can not afford it during the Christmas period.

Shoppers in York donated more than 8,000 meals to charities FareShare and the Trussell Trust. Tesco has organized earlier a food collection period to remind shoppers that there is a chance for them to share the Christmas joy.

CEO at FareShare, Lindsay Boswell expressed her delight and thankfulness to Tesco for providing this initiative to help people in need, she said:
“The food donated atthe Tesco Food Collection will make a tremendous difference tothe thousands ofcharities and community groups that FareShare supports”.

She added:
“These groups are doing amazing work with some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Thanks to the generosity of Tesco shoppers over the festive season”.
