Tesco bags for charity support

Tesco supports customers to bring their own reusable bags to reduce the use of plastic bags. A previous project by Tesco also aims to reduce the use of plastic bags were provided to customers with reusable bags for Life replaced for free if broken or damaged, in store. Tesco has announced that the raised money from carrier bag sales is used to fund local projects across Britain.

“Each time a customer shops they will be offered a blue token at the checkout and be able to vote for the project they want the money to go to. Every two months we hand out grants of up to £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 in 566 regions across Britain. This equals up to £3,955,000 for communities monthly. ”

The Royal Star & Garter Homes award will be given to the charity that will be voted on during the period of the vote until February 28th in Tesco stores.
