System U revenues and market share progress

The Group of Independent Distributors System U has seen its turnover increase by 2.3% in 2018, to nearly 20 billion euros, while regularly gaining market share, they announced Tuesday, January 29. In particular, the group recorded revenue from U (distributor brand) products at € 4.3 billion, up 3.8%. They now account for almost a quarter (23.1%) of total U-Store sales.

“The organic products of the U brand are also experiencing a very good growth (+ 18.2%), a reflection of a consumption trend that settles durably in the daily lives of French,” said System U in its statement. The growth of fresh craft (butchery, fishmonger, bakery, cheese cut …) is 3.2%.

“The quality agreements initiated by Système U with the sectors, focusing on local products and from short circuits, have contributed to this development,” says the group.
