Soft drink giants funded organisation to publish benefits of light products
A study that came out in November, which showed that light products can help you lose weight, appears to have been financed by a company in the portfolio of Coca-Cola and PepsiCo. The survey found that diet products are better than water, when the subjects tried to lose weight, reports The Independent. That, contrary to earlier studies which showed that light products had the same amount of health risks as its counterparts.

The survey covered 5500 various studies comparing and drawn the conclusions. To the conclusion that light products can help with dieting, however, only three studies were used. Two of them found little difference in the number of fallen kilos, the other above-mentioned, the difference significant. The latest research, however, was funded by the American Beverage Association, where several soft drink brands to be connected. Scientists from the University of Bristol, who led the research, stood behind their findings. The research was published in The International Journal of Obesity, which means that different scientists,  analyzed the study critically.
