German supermarket giant Lidl was extorted for 15m euros during the end of 2015, reported by EenVandaag on last Monday. The perpetrator threatened to poison its products, including the outlets of Netherlands if the company doesn’t pay. Eventually Eevandaag has correspondence between the perpetrator and Lidl in its limits. From an understanding point of view, Lidl was willing to pay 4.5 million to the perpetrator, but it backed out at the last minute. Lidl broke out when the perpetrator demanded the money in bitcoins.
Hardly Lidl Netherlands commented about the issue. The spokesperson of Lidl added that they cannot confront any media while the case is still under investigation. Meanwhile the investigation continues and the police are still looking for the perpetrator.
