Sainsbury’s is inspiring the nation to enjoy more fish this summer with #SwitchtheFish. On Friday 12th June customers will be encouraged to widen their repertoire by being offered a free portion of a ‘lesser known’ fish from our fish counters when they ask for one of the ‘Big 5’ fish.
If a customer asks for one of the ‘big five’ fish – salmon, tuna, haddock, cod or prawns – which make up 80% of fish sales in the UK – from one of the 400 fish counters in our supermarkets they will be offered a portion of one of four alternative fish for free – sea bass, coley, hake or loch trout.
All the alternative fish are ideal for cooking on the BBQ or served up as part of a summer dish so as part of Sainsbury’s campaign to ‘Get Summer Started’, all four of the alternative fish will be on offer from Wednesday 10th June – Tuesday 23rd June.
Sainsbury’s will be giving away thousands of free portions of fish to help the nation discover another mealtime favourite and you can find out more about #SwitchtheFish here.
