S&A foods site purchased by 2 Sisters Food group

The food titan that manufactures Fox’s biscuits and Goodfella’s pizzas has purchased the former office of a Derby readymade meals maker. S&A Foods, which manufactures ready to eat Asian dinners, ceased working in October with its 300 workers made redundant.

The site’s new proprietor, 2 Sisters Food Group, said it will hold various enrollment days over the coming weeks. 2 Sisters was established in West Bromwich in 1993.  It now utilizes more than 23,000 employees at its offices in the UK, Ireland, Poland and the Netherlands. Nick Murray, its head of communication, said the talks to buy the site on Sir Francis Ley Industrial Estate were finished on Friday.

Nick Murray also said that the 2 Sisters group was effectively working up arrangements to develop the site and will hope to draw in with the local workforce through various enrollments happening over the coming weeks. The organization has not said what sort of food will be made at the newly acquired site. The company said that it is too early to comment on the future plans.

S&A Foods was established by Perween Warsi CBE, who named it after the initials of her children Sadiq and Abid.
