Partnership with El Corte Inglés increases Azorean product sales by 70%

The partnership established between the Vice Presidency of the Government, through SDEA – Society for the Business Development of the Azores, and El Corte Inglés Portugal is renewed this year with a new campaign in the supermarkets of Lisbon and Vila Nova de Gaia, which bet once again in new food products.

On Friday, September 13, the two El Corte Inglés supermarkets will again highlight regional products through a campaign that will last until September 26 and where new products certified by the Azores Brand are made available to the final consumer, thus allowing them to be part of the permanent range offer of these commercial spaces.

According to data collected from El Corte Inglés Portugal, since the beginning of the partnership with SDEA, the sale of food products from the Azores has grown by 70% between Lisbon and Gaia, which demonstrates the importance consumers give the quality of regional products and, in particular, the authenticity associated with the Azores trademark.

Since 2015, as part of a business mission to the Azores, El Corte Inglés Portugal has become an active partner of the Regional Government through joint initiatives that promote products from the agrifood sector, with special emphasis on the Azores Brand holders.

The campaign highlights the best products of the nine islands of the archipelago and offers consumers a real experience through several daily tasting moments and show-cooking sessions by the foodie Rodrigo Meneses, in Lisbon, and by Chef Julio Trigo in Gaia.

This year, as the case in recent years, more than 100 new references are expected to enter the campaign, adding to the more than 200 permanent range.
