Next had announced that they will be moving into BHS store at intu’s Metrocentre. After the move Next will be one of Europe’s largest shopping centres; in short, its current floor space will be doubled. Next’s new space will be able to create new job opportunities for the shopping centre which is likely to be opened in early 2018. This is counted to be the latest scenario in an ongoing investment programme at the Metrocentre which has already seen significant growth to its Platinum Mall and leisure and dining sections.
Both House of Primark and Fraser had recently gone through significant expansions at the retail centre of 7739sq ft. and 2346sq ft. respectively. Intu regional director Kate Grant told that the new fantastic space at the heart of intu Metrocentre will demonstrate one of the most successful stores, which will further allow them to attract more customers will create a handful of new openings. He added that it was a significant investment by Next that in par with their own investments and similar expansions by House of Frasier and Primark this year, Next represents a much long-term commitment to intu Metrocentre and the north east region as an encouraging retail destination.
