Nestlé invests $43 million in the expansion of its Wisconsin factory.

A $43 million expansion of Nestlé Health Science’s facility in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is planned. In order to improve capacity and keep up with the rising demand for its ready-to-drink Boost and Carnation Breakfast Essentials products, the firm announced it will add two production lines.

The investment will increase the number of positions at the plant by 60.

The CPG behemoth stressed that the new facility places a high priority on sustainability. The facility will produce its beverage items in recyclable TetraPak cartons and have zero waste going to landfills. Early in 2022, the business introduced sustainable packaging for Carnation Breakfast Essentials while also reducing the beverage’s added sugar level by 25%. By the year 2025, Nestlé wants all of its packaging to be recyclable or reusable.

This is Nestle’s second significant investment in the Wisconsin facility’s expansion in recent years. In order to achieve its sustainability objectives, the company invested $50 million in 2020 to increase its production capacity and remove straws from its packaging.

The company’s approach of boosting its supply chain capabilities in response to rising demand is being continued with the Wisconsin expansion. To create coffee creamers for companies like Coffee Mate and Starbucks, Nestlé USA announced a $675 million investment in a new facility in Glendale, Arizona, last year. According to the corporation, more than 350 jobs will be created when the plant opens in 2024.
