Morrison’s begins a second round of price decreases in January.

Morrisons announced more price cuts today, as food inflation continues to strain buyers’ finances.

The store has reduced the prices of 820 items, including meat, fruits and vegetables, and confectionary.

It has also reduced the price of a variety of domestic consumables, such as kitchen roll, by an average of 20%.

Morrisons stated that the cuts will be in place for at least two months.

As it aims to become more price competitive with its supermarket rivals and discounters, the supermarket has already reduced the price of 130 of its Savers goods this year, supported by a significant advertising effort.

The current wave includes Warburtons, Patak’s, and Dettol items, as well as Morrisons own label products.

“Today’s reduction indicate our continuous commitment to doing everything we can to help with the cost of food shopping,” Morrisons CEO David Potts said.

“In addition to the reduction we made to the Savers line at the beginning of the month and then our fuel promotion, we’re also lowering the prices on even more popular goods to help make a difference in our customers’ budgets.”
