Metcalfe’s skinny Launch Largest Above The Line Campaign Of Any Other UK Popcorn Brand

For Immediate Release

Two creative greats, Julian Metcalfe and Trevor Robinson, have combined forces to launch the largest above the line advertising campaign for a UK popcorn brand. Julian Metcalfe is best known for founding Pret a Manger and itsu whilst Trevor Robinson, best known for his ‘You’ve been Tangoed Slap’ campaign was awarded an OBE in 2009 for his services to advertising.  Activated by, one of the world’s largest media agencies, this is the first advertising campaign for the Metcalfe skinny brand and the investment spend will amount to more than double that of any UK popcorn producer to date[1].

Split into two bursts of activity in July and November 2014, the advert, designed and executed by Trevor Robinson’s agency, Quiet Storm, is fun, light hearted and centred on the creative feel of ‘lighten up’, in line with the Metcalfe’s skinny brand ethos. The campaign, which launches on 14th July, will be supported by heavy weight media spend and will feature in a series of prime time TV spots, pop up cinema screenings, gym TV, on VOD and social media. The campaign, will run in line with promotions in leading retailers.

Metcalfe’s Food Company is the innovative food company founded by Julian Metcalfe, which is responsible for launching Metcalfe’s skinny, a wide range of healthier snacks including Topcorn (freshly popped, butterfly popcorn), Corn’ers (flash griddled corn crisps) and most recently chocolate-coated Mini Corncakes. Metcalfe’s skinny is on a mission to create a range of delicious and healthier snacks made with top quality ingredients, limitless love and care.
