Mercadona looks for young staff for three days a week

Mercadona is looking for distributors, warehouse staff and personnel for the different sections of its supermarkets for full-day and weekend work with fixed contracts and salaries from 1,328 euros to 1,800 to the fourth year in several Spanish provinces. For the half-day (twenty hours distributed between Friday, Saturday and Monday) the salary amounts to 663 euros per month and the hiring is indefinite.

The aim of these weekend contracts is to attract talent among young people to form a “quarry” in the company itself. Therefore, these job offers are aimed at university students so that they can combine their higher education with a stable position in the main Spanish commercial distribution chain.

A week after announcing the hiring of 9,000 people for the summer campaign – those vacancies are already covered – the company chaired by Juan Roig on Monday released new offers to fill jobs.

Unlike the summer vacancies, the vacancies published this week correspond to indefinite contracts, according to the company’s human resources policy, which closed the 2018 financial year with a staff of 85,800 permanent employees.

Mercadona’s job offers this week from May 20 to May 26 correspond to its logistics block in Vitoria, where it looks for warehouse waiters, to the city of Bilbao, in which it needs delivery drivers, and to supermarket personnel in the cities from Valencia, Tudela (Navarra) and Terrasa, l’Hospitalet, Cornellà, El Prat de Llobregat, Gavà, Viladecans, Esparraguera, Molins de Rei, Olesa de Montserrat, Pallejà and San Vicenç dels Horts (Barcelona).
