Two market giants are joining hands in North Sydney, to put on a major Christmas dinner on Boxing Day.
The Superstore and the Sobeys branches sit across from one another, and are generally rivals. However, in a true holiday season, they’re cooperating for a free Saturday feast at the North Sydney fire hall.
It’s their yearly custom, and the store proprietors welcome individuals who are themselves alone at Christmas.
The Progressive Conservative MLA for the region, Eddie Orrell, gave the idea to the stores a couple of years ago.

Superstore and Sobeys will donate the food, firemen donate the hall and some firemen and self-volunteers will take up cooking; arrangements as well as cleaning.
Rob Gouthro, the manager of Superstore, said it’s an attitude to give back after an occupied Christmas.
Kirk Yhard, the Sobey’s chief told that It’s an awesome ordeal. It’s decent to get out and see the clients and everyone from the group, Individuals truly value it.
The fire station will be opening at noon in 17 Pierce Street on Saturday. They’ll be prepared to serve 300 individuals.
