Waitrose continues to increase its presence within the capital in 2015, as it opens its fifth shop in the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham on Tuesday 14th March. The new shop in West Kensington will be the 28th convenience store within Greater London.
Sarah Gunston, Store Manager at Waitrose West Kensington, said: “This new branch, in-between Kensington and West Kensington tube stations, reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding the little Waitrose brand within London. In 2015 we want to introduce Waitrose to an even wider audience, and we will be looking at sites, not just within central London, but also within the M25 and the surrounding counties. “
The new shop will create an additional 44 new jobs and all new employees will become Partners in the John Lewis Partnership, entitling them to benefits including leisure and learning subsidies and an annual bonus. This year every employee received the equivalent of eight weeks wages in bonus, so a significant proportion of profits will remain within the local community.
