Lidl has beaten the Big Four in customer satisfaction polls for the third year running, according to independent consumer magazine Which?, who have released their annual supermarket survey in their January edition. And for the first time, Lidl has overtaken Marks & Spencer in the rankings!
With more than 11,000 people surveyed, Which? found Lidl scored higher than Marks and Spencer, Tesco’s, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Asda, and Co-op in terms of overall customer score. With a total score of 68% this year, Lidl jumped up a further 4 percentage points from last year’s impressive result.
Customers rated Lidl higher than Tesco and Asda on fresh produce quality, value and special offers, and own brand products with Which? saying that Lidl “was the only supermarket to get four stars for both its discounts and multibuys”. One Which? panel member goes on to praise their great value by saying:
‘We find Lidl’s fruit and vegetables to be competitively priced and many of the other special offers good value.’
It just goes to show that you don’t have to own the largest market share to score well!
