The Dutch manufacturer Smaak & Co B.V. recalls different flavors of the bread spreads “Meine Käserei” sold through Lidl stores in Germany. The affected products includes:  “My dairy spreading pineapple peach, 175 g,   “My dairy bread spread chives, 175 g” and  “My Cheese Bread Spread Tomato Basil, 175 g” These were sold at Lidl Germany in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. For reasons of consistent consumer protection, Lidl Germany immediately responded and took the affected products from the sale.

The products can be returned in all Lidl stores. The purchase price will be reimbursed, even without presentation of the receipt. Of the recalled products, “My Käserei Brotaufstrich, 175g” of the manufacturer Smaak & Co B.V. is reportedly affected. Other products sold at Lidl Deutschland are not affected by the recall.  Listeriosis is usually harmless in healthy people, or even hardly noticed. Infants or people with weakened immunity, such as freshly operated, AIDS or cancer patients and diabetics can be seriously ill.
