Lidl opens its first store in central Pennsylvania


The new store will be located at 980 S. Richland Avenue in York County and will be the third Pennsylvania store for the chain which also operates groceries in Folsom, Delaware County and Wilson, Northampton County. Here in central Pa.

Lidl plans to open additional stores in Dover, York County and off Columbia Avenue in Lancaster County. As It has opened 68 stores in the United States since 2017 and operates about 10,500 stores in 29 countries.

The six-aisle store took more than three years to complete and is located at the new Shoppes at Wyndham near York College in Spring Garden Township. and it sells private label store-brand products, although about 10 percent of the store’s inventory is devoted to familiar brand names. Shoppers will find Chobani yogurt, Oreo cookies and Pepperidge Farms goldfish crackers.
