The Lidl supermarket chain continues to expand its network of stores in Spain by opening two new stores in the province of Barcelona in October, where today it already accumulates some 70 points of sale. Both projects, located in the town of Igualada and in Barcelona capital, have involved an investment of more than 9 million euros by the supermarket chain.
The company highlights in a statement that, with these openings, it continues with its ambitious expansion plan, whose impact this month translates into the creation of 39 new jobs and the employability of almost fifty people considering only the inauguration of these twoLidl
Lidl opened the doors of its first store in the Barcelona municipality of Igualada on October 3. This, located in the Avinguda dels Països Catalans 14-16, has more than 1,300 m2 of salesroom and 112 parking spaces to facilitate the purchases of its customers. This inauguration has led to the creation of 21 new jobs for a staff of 24 employees.
As for the new Lidl store in Barcelona, it will be located in the Mercat del Bon Pastor. The supermarket chain will offer 1,200 m2 of sales room and more than 40 parking spaces shared with the municipal market from October 24. This opening will involve the creation of 18 new jobs for a staff of 25 employees.
