Lidl announces new openings at Kelso and Hawick

The supermarket giant Lidl has announced a couple of new vacancies at its outlets in Kelso and Hawick. The company was awarded ‘Best Supermarket 2016’ by Good House-keeping magazine. Now it has announced a recruitment drive for both full and part time positions in the Scottish Borders. The retailer is creating around 25 new openings ranging from Caretaking staff, Customer Assistants, Floor Managers and in Store Management.

The Hawick store currently under construction will hopefully become the retailer’s third “Lidl of the Future” in the region and is expected to open probably by second month of 2017. Successful candidates have to start the training straight away ahead of the opening of the outlet. A Lidl spokesperson told that the shop-floor is the heart of their business. It is the action front-line and so it is natural to have great people and to provide the training and support they need to mend as the best.

The retailer has created tough competition for the larger supermarket chains over the region and is experiencing continuous growth from customers over recent years. Around 5.5 million shoppers visit Lidl each week which is about 50% more from 2014. More information regarding the openings will be available at
