The wounded old warrior Kmart announced recently that it is closing their last store in Mid-Hudson Valley.
Those who visited the store can obviously notice the empty shelves and the big sign at the entrance which says only 5 days left. The store has been offering the remaining items for half the price, however the store is almost empty .
Howard Riefs, director of corporate communications at Sears Holdings said earlier:
“We have been strategically and aggressively evaluating our store space and productivity, and have accelerated the closing of unprofitable stores as previously announced,”
The closure of the store will lead to the loss of 71 jobs, about that said
Howard Riefs: “Those associates that are eligible will receive severance and have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Sears or Kmart stores,” he said.
