Kohl’s, American retail chain, announced that it would stay open for
170 Hours straight leading up to Christmas. As more customers push
their vacation shopping up to the last minute, Kohl’s declared that it
will keep its entryways open 24 hours a day in the countdown to
Christmas. Beginning Dec. 17 at 7 a.m., the discount supermarket
establishment will stay open for over 170 hours in a row, giving
customers until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve to complete their shopping.
This is an example on how supermarkets push the limits on Christmas
deadlines. Kohl’s has offered marathon hours for slowpokes for many
years now. In 2014, it kept its stores running from 6 a.m. Dec. 19
through 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief merchandise and customer officer said they
would be opening the entryways around-the-clock leading up to
Christmas to give clients much more opportunity to get their late
presents. As per America’s Research Group, just around a quarter of
Americans surveyed between Dec. 11 and 13 were finished with their
Christmas shopping, the least number in thirteen years.
