Kaufland supports the digital project of the panels

The project “Blackboard makes the future – together digital” of the panel Germany should save even more food from garbage. Kaufland as partner supports the project in the pilot phase.

“As a trading company, we take the responsible use of food very seriously.” We have been working with Tafel Germany for many years, and our branches actively contribute to reducing food waste and helping needy people in Germany, “says Lavinia Kochanski, Head of Sustainability ,

To simplify food rescue and save even more food from garbage in the future, the project “Tafel macht Zukunft – digital together” was launched. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. The Tafel Deutschland and its project partners are developing an online platform, the so-called “eco platform”. This should improve the networking of boards, trade and manufacturers.

With the use of the platform, the boards and food retailers such as Kaufland should be able to save more food in total: the work of all those involved is simplified and the transfer to needy people is made precisely and on demand. For example, the optimization of route planning saves time and costs for the boards.
