Kaufland strike: Verdi calls workers on strike


The union Verdi has called employees of Kaufland on Friday for the day strike. In addition to cashiers and shop assistants from Zeitz, colleagues from Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia are asked also to be involved. In Erfurt it should come on Friday to a central rally, to which, among other things, participants from Zeitz are expected.

“Since the end of May, the collective agreements for the 256,000 employees in retail and mail order have been terminated, we demand significant increases in wages, salaries and training allowances, preferential arrangements for ver.di members, equal tariff periods and tariffs apply to all,” Verdi says.
