After amazing success when it hit Scottish stores earlier this year, supermarket Aldi has announced that it will be launching its limited-edition Forest Fruits Colour Changing Gin (£19.99) nationwide.
The spirit was met with tumultuous excitement in Scotland, with bottles flying off the shelves when it launched. Aldi has announced that it has listened to customer demand and will be bringing the unique gin to shoppers south of the border next month.
Hitting store shelves and the supermarket’s online site from 8th October, gin fanatics should look no further than Aldi for the ultimate, Instagram-worthy twist on the nation’s favourite spirit.
Characterised by its deliciously fruity notes and priced at just £19.99, the unique gin, which is beautifully presented in an embossed clear, recyclable bottle sees its colour morph from a pale sapphire to a soft pink when tonic is added. Distilled with the blue petals of the Asian butterfly flower, the PH levels naturally adjust in the gin when anything is added to it, making it completely change in colour.
Dale McQueen, Managing Director and Co-Founder, McQueen Gin, said: “It was incredibly exciting to see that our Colour Changing Gin proved to be so popular in Aldi’s Scottish stores. As a small craft distillery, a partnership with one of the UK’s biggest supermarkets is a huge venture for us, and we are delighted to be working with Aldi again.
“Not only does our gin taste great, it also brings a little bit of theatre to ‘gin o’clock’ and is the perfect pairing for tonic and lime.”
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, comments: “New and exciting products are key for offering Aldi shoppers interesting ways to refresh their drinks cabinets. This gin is a fantastic addition to our award-winning spirits range, which we are delighted to now be bringing to shoppers south of the border – following its great success in our Scottish stores.
“We are proud to support distillers who are at the forefront of new concepts and it is our close working relationships with suppliers like McQueen’s that allow us to bring such innovative products, at great-value prices to our shelves.”
