Freshtime Plans for Growth with New Category Manager
Snack salad and vegetable specialist Freshtime UK is building its in-house marketing capacity with the recruitment of Category Manager Claire Matson.
Claire (26) studied marketing at the University of Derby and has worked for the past three years at Bakkavor in Lincolnshire.
As Category Manager Claire will help Freshtime to grow by identifying new trends and responding to consumer demand in the prepared vegetables and food-to-go sector.
She will also be analysing sales and distribution trends to inform the company’s plans in the future.
“It’s a really exciting challenge and I’m already loving it,” said Claire. “I’m passionate about using my knowledge and experience to build a future for Freshtime.
“There’s massive potential for growth here because we operate in so many different markets, and because we’re relatively small we can be really flexible – we can innovate and respond to new trends much more quickly than larger firms.
“We can manufacture a new product in small volumes whereas the bigger players have a minimum order they need to reach before they can put it in their factory. We also have a very quick turnaround when it comes to innovation.”
Mark Newton, Managing Director of Freshtime UK, said Claire’s appointment was part of the firm’s growth strategy and added that he expects to announce more new recruits soon.
“I’ve been here for about a year and my goal is to develop Freshtime from being a fantastic operation into a world-class business,” he said.
“Everyone here is up to the challenge of taking this business forward and the door is open to new people to come on board and help us to grow.
“We’re delighted to have added Claire to our team and she has already significantly improved our market intelligence capability.”
