French hypermarket chain Geant, one of the world’s top retail brands, opened its new outlet in Dubai, UAE. The New hypermarket in Dragon Mart 2 will tailor customers mainly outside the downtown area, in Mirdif, Silicon Oasis, International City, Al Warqa, Nad Al Hammar and Rashidiya.
The 10,000-square-meter superstore is the eighth hypermarket owned by the brand in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) locale. It is one among the 500 retail shops, eateries and entertainment outlets that operates in Nakheel’s Dh1 billion Dragon Mart augmentation, which as of late had its soft opening.
Dragon Mart 2 compasses 1.9 million square feet. It’s a two-story shopping destination that components a 12-screen Novo Cinema complex, a food court and a different feasting patio. A few stores in the new expansion are now operational, with the rest expected to open soon. Mark Anthony Lack, chief operating officer, Geant Middle East, believed that the UAE is a “key growing market” for the organization.
“We picked the area here at Dragon Mart 2 to guarantee we are strategically located to serve the vigorously populated neighborhoods of Silicon Oasis and International City, and we anticipate more new shoppers to the store,” he said.
The new hypermarket will highlight a wide variety of basic supplies with more than 65,000 items, including day-by-day conveyances of new fresh foods from neighborhood and universal markets. The retail brand is set to proceed with its development in the GCC with plans well in progress to open a hypermarket in Fujairah, UAE and in Wadi Al Alsail Mall in Bahrain in the coming months.
Geant functions grocery stores in four formats, such as the hypermarket, grocery store, neighborhood and city store. The brand opened its first GCC store in Bahrain in 2001. It entered the UAE market by opening its first store in Dubai in 2005.
