Tesco Bank has stopped online transactions for current account holders after fraudsters compromised thousands of accounts. The bank said that some accounts “have been subject to online criminal activity, in some cases resulting in money being withdrawn fraudulently”.
Bank added that as a safety measure it was briefly stopping on the online transactions for current record clients. They will even now have the capacity to utilize their cards for money withdrawals, chip and pin payments, and bill payments.
“We can reassure customers that any financial loss as a result of this activity will be resolved fully by Tesco Bank,” said the bank’s chief executive Benny Higgins.
Mr Higgins likewise apologized for the “worry and inconvenience “the clients have confronted. Throughout the weekend, clients complined about cash being pulled back without consent, cards being blocked and long deferrals to break through to the depend on the telephone.
