The German supermarket chain has just opened a new logistics platform in Cestas to supply 72 stores in Aquitaine. 40 hires of logistics operators on permanent contracts are announced as well as 50 hires on fixed-term contracts.
Logistics operators, order pickers, forklifts: Lidl plans to recruit 90 people within six months to complete the teams of its new logistics warehouse located in the Jarry business area in Cestas, 20 km south of Bordeaux. The building consisting of offices, sheds and loading areas covers 52,000 m2 and already employs 220 employees (40 in the support and supply departments and 180 in the logistics business). This platform, which represents a € 58 million investment, is home to Lidl’s regional management and supplies the German brand’s 72 stores in the Gironde, Landes, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Lot-et-Garonne regions. .
“These 90 recruitments are made up of 40 permanent hirings and 50 seasonal jobs with three-month fixed-term contracts in June, July and August to respond to the increase in summer activity and the leave of the permanent teams”, says Ludovic Devos, the Regional Director of Lidl.
Lidl operates 1,500 supermarkets in France as well as 25 logistics platforms and employs around 32,000 employees. The German brand holds 6.1% of the retail market share in France, up 0.4 point.
