From 19 to 21 February 2013, the retail world will meet at EuroCIS in Düsseldorf. In 2012, EuroCIS impressively confirmed its position as the leading European trade fair for retail technology: 6,405 visitors, 237 exhibitors from 25 countries and a net exhibition space of 6,274 m² – a triple record.
And for 2013, all indicators again point to a resounding success. The reason is that the IT segment is the most significant growth sector in retailing. The development of modern shopping formats and experiences is explosive, and as the upswing in the sector continues, there is also a growing willingness to invest in IT.
EuroCIS 2013 is the network for all professionals working and living for IT success in the retail sector. More than ever, mobile technologies will be the focus for next year – they range from various mobile payment and mobile marketing technologies to the tablets and iPad software for retail staff and the new generations of MDE equipment.
Solutions for the realization of multi-channel strategies as well as interactive and connected in-store communication will also figure among the trend subjects at the fair. In this context, the focus will also be on innovative business intelligence solutions for processing and analysing large data quantities from various channels. Visitors will also see other highlights in areas such as RFID at the item level, self-service and cash management solutions, Web-based integration of stores and head office, efficient loss prevention as well as intelligent personnel deployment planning.
In 2012, EuroCIS extended its portfolio to include multi-channel and e-commerce solutions and proved to be exactly in line with the current trend. In 2013, the multi-channel theme will again be covered by combining a lecture arena and exhibitors.
Following last year’s debut, there will again be the area “Fashion Select” in 2013, which presents companies specialising in IT solutions and services for the fashion industry.
EuroCIS Forum is both fully established and very popular among exhibitors and visitors alike. It presents exciting lectures on interesting developments in retail technology. Topical case studies, innovations and trends are presented jointly by exhibitors and their customers. And the highlight: trade visitors have free access to the bilingual forum (D/GB) at the heart of the trade fair.
EuroCIS will again be accompanied by an excellent supporting programme. Its highlight is the awards ceremony of the coveted retail technology awards europe (reta europe) by EHI Retail Institute on 19 February. These awards are given for excellent and innovative IT applications in the retail sector. And on 20 Februar 2013, EHI and GS1 will award the Retail Science Award (Wissenschaftspreis Handel). This prize is awarded to outstanding scientific projects, which take up innovative ideas and ensure their transferability to the retail sector.
