Eroski expands its business with a new supermarket in Bilbao


Eroski has opened a new supermarket on Clara Campoamor street in the Zorroza neighbourhood, in Bilbao. It is the sixth opening that the cooperative has carried out during the last 12 months.

These store openings are concentrated in the northern area of ​​the peninsula, where the Basque cooperative has experienced growth of around 3% of sales. In the last four years, and after an investment of more than 300 million euros, there are now more than 600 new generation establishments that are part of the commercial network of the company.

The new supermarket, which operates under the Eroski / City banner, has a sales area of 1,462 m2 and responds to the ‘Contigo’ model. With an investment of almost two million euros, this opening has led to the creation of 38 jobs. The staff has received more than 6,000 hours of training to offer personalized attention and better solutions to customers, in addition to deepening the self-management of the teams of professionals working in the store.
