According to media reports a few days ago, El Corte Inglés has decided to take a giant step towards digitalization. Thus, at its last summer shareholders meeting, the group president, Marta Álvarez, announced that the company will have its own shopping app before the end of 2019.

Currently, El Corte Inglés has an application from its supermarket, both for iOS and Android, in addition to four other applications not directly related to online shopping, we all know how internet giants spend them. Amazon, eBay and Aliexpress squeeze and, despite the latter’s alliance with El Corte Inglés itself, the Spanish company urgently needed to catch up with its customers, so the launch of its app promises, at least, to encourage market.

With the new app, the buyer can access all those products that are not part of their supermarket. That is, in theory, we will have access to the complete catalogue of department stores.
