The insurance brokerage of El Corte Inglés has launched an expansion of its business within the group’s e-commerce project.

Insurance Center El Corte Inglés has signed an agreement with DentyCard to offer online dental and veterinary services for pets.

This initiative is part of the implementation of e-commerce, a project for which El Corte Inglés plans to bill 1,000 million euros in 2020 in total sales through the Internet.

The brokerage now includes on its website the offer of DentyCard, which offers dental services different from the health insurance of Adeslas and Sanitas that El Corte Inglés markets in its shopping centers.

Dentyred, included in Dentycard, has 12,000 healthcare professionals in Spain, Portugal and Andorra with which it serves 3.1 million beneficiaries through more than 6,000 medical centres and more than 12,000 healthcare professionals.

“Our clients are always insurance or brokerage companies,” says Javier San Galo, CEO of Denticard. Santander, Axa, Generali and Catalana Occidente are some of them.

Until now, El Corte Inglés offered this dental service in the offices that its brokerage has in the commercial centres of El Corte Inglés and Hipercor.

The agreement with Dentycard includes the online offer of veterinary services for pets, an activity that “has a good business projection,” says San Galo.

Towards the end of the year, the large area expects to boost this online business through social networks.
