Nestlé is working with the American Danimer Scientific to develop a biodegradable bottle in seawater and recyclable and with PureCycle Technologies to produce recycled polypropylene food grade. Polypropylene is a polymer used for the packaging of food products.

Passed last December, the ban on single-use plastic will be effective in 2021, so brands will have to find solutions to replace plastic by then.

In a logic of preservation of the environment, Monoprix announced last January 10 in a press release that it renounced the distribution of these paper catalogs. This will save 24,000 tons of paper for the distribution of these 30 million catalogs in these outlets each year. One less charge for the planet and recycling! It also states that “the ecological impact of the digital prospectus is 14 times lower than that of paper”. The catalogs will still be available on the mobile application.
