Dungannon’s Mackle Pet foods have made an agreement to supply its Naturo pet food to Albert Heijn, biggest Dutch supermarket chain, founded in 1887 in Oostzaan, The Netherlands. The organization, which is supported by Invest NI, makes a wide variety of items for both cats and dogs.

Managing director John Mackle said that through intensive market research, store visits and market checks they came into the conclusion that Naturo was the best and foremost option on the Dutch supermarket shelves. In a pet-loving nation like the Netherlands, with 4.5 million cats and dogs, the company saw an open door for Naturo, particularly as the Dutch lean toward quality natural items.

The company also did their legwork before entering the Dutch market and comprehended that there were many disparities between the Netherlands and the domestic market. This helped Naturo to ensure their product offering was exactly what the market wanted.

Enterprise Minister Jonathan Bell said the organization’s prosperity was a decent example for other Northern Ireland organizations considering exporting as it highlights. Mackle Petfoods’ Naturo range was dispatched in the UK and Ireland in 2013. The deal will now see the item on the racks of 200 Albert Heijn stores in the Netherlands. Mackle Petfoods’ Naturo range is supplied at an extensive variety of outlets crosswise over Northern Ireland-including general store titan Tesco – and through online stores.
