Dunnes Stores is set to proceed with its acquisition so as to secure  two organizations set up by one of Ireland’s top butchers.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) told yesterday that it has been mentioned of the proposed obtaining by Dunnes Stores of Whelan Food and Meat Processors and Tipperary Sustainable Food Company.

The two organizations are claimed by Pat Whelan, who runs James Whelan Butchers in Tipperary town and in addition the butcher’s outlets in Avoca stores in Dublin and Wicklow. The Avoca outlets are reportedly excluded in the arrangement.
