Discounter Lidl expands its logistics centre in Siek

Siek .. Discounter group Lidl expands its central warehouse in Siek by almost a third. The approximately 34,000 square-meter halls (equivalent to about five football fields) are to be increased by 10,000 square meters. The required lawn south of the existing building has been owned by the company for years. The first expansion plans had already been discussed in 2013.

“Space is to be used, among other things, to expand the cooling areas and the storage area for non-food,” says Isabel Lehmann, a spokeswoman in the headquarters in Neckarsulm (Baden-Württemberg). From Siek Lidl supplies around 70 branches from Hamburg-Ost to Lübeck with goods. The expansion of the logistics centre ensures the supply for the future.
